Welcome

Welcome to Two Dimensional Design!  The class revolves around creating a portfolio of images using Adobe Photoshop software. You can download Photoshop at http://adobe.com… Albertus ITS needs to input your email addresses into the Adobe database so that you can have free access to it for the Mod.

When you go to adobe.com, click sign in in the upper right hand side and enter your Albertus login information.  If you are promted to download a "trial" version, then your login information hasn't been entered yet.  If that is the case, either email Jeremy Peterson directly as he is the one responsible for entering your information or let me know and I will email him.

You do need a real computer, not a Chromebook to run this software... either a PC or a Mac.  You'll also need a decent broadband connection to be able to upload your work to the class blog. (Here)

If you don't have the necessary computer and connection, then you'll need to use any of the publicly available computers on campus That includes the Library, Rm 114 in the TAG center and 315 Aquinas Hall.

The first week will be about getting up to speed in creating your accounts and getting your software image editing program working. Join the class blog by clicking on the link in the email Blogger sent you from me.  Use your Albertus credentials to join and log in.  You only need to do this once.  Use you name as a screen name so I can give you credit for your work. There are instruction on creating an account at blogger and joining the class blog... you don't need to create your own blog... just join the class one..  Also post a short bio and photo to the class blog to introduce yourself.

We will also start small with the first project listed on the syllabus...

The Dot.

I host the syllabus on my website,http://jnevins.com.  Take a look around there to look at my teaching philosophy, syllabi, portfolios of my own work, tutorials and more...

Here is a link to the syllabus for this class:http://jnevins.com/twodimensionaldesignsyllabusonline.html

There you will find links to each project.

We have 16 students in this class... put all of your work here on the blog.

Download and install your image editing program...

Look over past student work posted on the blogs, linked from the syllabus.

I want you to have fun with this class and not get hung up on any of the technical stuff...  Once you get rolling, you'll see it is fun and very engaging...

Don't hesitate to call me at home if you are stuck! 203- six six four, one zero one four.

Looking forward to working with you this Mod!
